How to Take Screenshots on Windows

Windows has proven to be a revolutionary operating system which has changed the way computers work. Due to its user friendly graphic interface, it has been a big hit all over the world and is currently the most used operating system. There are many features and capabilities that Windows offer.

One of these important features is the ability to capture a screenshot. Although it is a very basic tool that is offered by Windows, it is indeed quite useful. Sometimes information needs to be captured in the shape of a screenshot. It can be done without much trouble and only takes a minute of your time.

    Select a Screenshot

    Select a screen that you will like to capture as a screenshot. A person comes across hundreds if not thousands of various screens a day and only one or two are worth saving for any particular reason.

    Press Print Screen

    Press the print screen button to save the screenshot to the clipboard. As soon as the button is pressed, the screenshot is saved.

    Open Paint

    Paint is one of the programs that are integrated with Windows. This tool is useful for drawing and some very basic editing. You need to open this program in order to save the screenshot which is currently on the clipboard. It can be opened by going into the start menu, then accessories and clicking on the paint button.

    Paste the Screenshot

    The next step is to paste the screenshot in Paint. You can do this by whether pressing CTRL + V or by simply by right clicking on the screen and choosing the option to paste. Once this is done, the screenshot will be available on the paint page.

    Save It

    You can save it by going to the file menu and selecting save as to direct it into a directory of your liking and save it under a file name you choose. Once you click the OK button, it will be saved in the location that you have chosen. If you wish to highlight any specific part of the page, you can simply highlight it using many of the tools that are available inside Paint. These changes can be saved as well.
