How to Tone Oblique Muscles Without Weights
Working on abs is something that everyone tries to do. This is because a good set of abs helps give you a lot of self confidence. What most people don’t realize, is that the oblique muscles are also a part of the abs. They are the muscles that run diagonally along the stomach and give your abdominal region the extra ripped look. Working on your oblique muscles doesn’t require you to use weights. In fact, you can work on them without any weights and just about anywhere you feel like.

The first thing you should try to do, is to perform the traditional oblique crunches. In order to perform them, you need to lie down on your back and then bend your knees. Keep your feet together and get your legs to fall on one side of your body. Now keep your knees tightly together and place your hands on the back of your neck. Go ahead and raise your shoulders as high as you can and try to do a crunch with them. Now lower your shoulders back into the starting position. Repeat this step for about 15 reps, while doing three sets at a time.

Alternatively, you can opt to perform truck twists. In order to do these, place your feet at shoulder length. Now place your hands on your hips. While keeping your upper body as stiff as you can, go on and rotate to the right and then to the left. Keep doing this for as long as you can, till you can feel a slight burn in your oblique muscles.

You may also consider performing a lying jackknife exercise. Lay down on your right, while keeping your feet together. Place one of your hands behind your neck, while ensuring that your elbows are pointing upwards. Now raise your torso in an upwards direction, while lifting your right leg up. Slowly start to lower your torso. Now repeat this step on both sides of your body and perform it about 10 to 12 times, while doing about 4 reps each time.

Another way to tone your oblique muscles is to go on and do some cardio. You can do simple jogging and running, or do any other form of cardio that you want. Just remember, the more you sweat, the more shredded those oblique muscles will look.
