How to Train for Muscle Ups

Few days ago I was at the gym to have some workout along with my friend. We have been exercising at the gym for over a couple of years now and have been regular to date. We found new equipment at the gym that was supposed to be used for muscle ups. So, we tried that because it was empty; probably no one knew how to use it. Soon, the boys and girls tried to repeat the same exercise after we were done with our sets. It was hilarious to witness everyone failing to perform the Muscle up exercise because their bodies weren’t toned enough to cope with the pressure. One guy nearly injured himself while doing that but honestly he did well compared to the rest of the clan who failed miserably. A Muscle up exercise is when you perform a pull up to an extent that your chest-dip clears the bar and locks your arms at a position where you can’t move upward anymore. Arms are straight up.

Master pull ups because they are the basis to extend for Muscle ups! You can easily do pull ups but you can’t lift your body further, it is because you are not doing your pull ups correctly. The posture should be perfect and you have to generate a bit of muscle on your arms to generate enough energy to left the rest of the body until chest for a successful rap of muscle up. You should at least do ten pull ups in one go without taking any assistance. Then you can even think of doing a single muscle up.

You have to master dips after you are done with pull ups. You will need a dip bar for that and most gyms have one so you better join a gym instead of trying to do all this activity at home with equipment that is usually dangerous. You can use a pair of chairs for dips but it is dangerous so go to the gym, it’s as simple as that.

You have mastered pull ups and dips but you are still unable to life your body for muscle ups. The transition phase where you pull up to dip is the hardest of all and therefore you have to practice it for a week regularly so that you can generate some form. Use low bar at the start, then medium and then go for the highest bar.
