How to Transfer Data From an iPod Touch to an iPhone

Have you bought a new iPhone and want to transfer your huge music collection from your iPod Touch to your new phone? Do you have some other data that you want to transfer to your iPhone so that you will no longer have to carry both the devices with you? Planning on selling your iPod Touch, but want to transfer the data from the device to your iPhone? The process to transfer data from an iPod Touch to an iPhone is a simple one, requiring you to first transfer data to a computer with iTunes installed and then from there to an iPhone. Be sure to close any other programmes that may be running on the computer unnecessarily.

    The first thing that you need to do is to transfer the data from your iPod Touch to your computer. To do this, connect the device with the computer using its USB cable.

    Click the iTunes icon to open it and locate the iPod Touch tab. You will find it just below the “Devices” section in iTunes. Once your find it, click it.

    With the mouse cursor on the iPod Touch tab, right-click to make a pop-up menu appear on your screen. Select the “Back up” option from the menu and left-click it to start the back-up process.

    Wait for the computer to finish backing up the data of your iPod Touch. Once it is completed, unplug the USB cable from your iPod Touch to disconnect it from your computer.

    To successfully transfer data from your iPod Touch to an iPhone, you need to the same apps in the latter that you have installed in the former. Therefore, visit the App Store by pressing the “App Store” icon on the home-screen of your iPhone.

    Search for the apps installed on your iPod Touch and download them to your iPhone. Do not miss out any app.

    Once apps similar to your iPod Touch are successfully downloaded on your iPhone, connect the latter to the computer using the device’s USB Cable.

    In the “Summary” section of iTunes, locate and click the “Restore” button. A dialogue box will appear, prompting you to confirm if you want to start the restore process. Click “Restore” to begin the process.

    Once the iTunes is done restoring data to your iPhone, click “OK” to finish the process.

    Now, check the box located next to “Restore from the back-up of.” Click the drop-down menu and click “iPod Touch” to select it. Begin the process by clicking the “Continue” button.

    Once the process is complete, disconnect your iPhone from your computer.
