How to Transfer DVDs to Your IPod

Apple iPod is the most highly ranked portable media player device. Until now, four generations of iPod have been introduced which include iPod Classic, iPod Touch, iPod Nano and iPod Shuffle. It allows you to use numerous built-in features and apps which you get from Apple Store.

You can also watch movies on your iPod. But, if you intend to transfer DVDs from your computer to your iPod, you will have to convert them to MP4 files. You can use any software to convert the files and can take help to transfer them.

    Get the DVDs which you want to transfer and copy them on your computer.

    Then, you have to download a video converter from the internet. There are many video converters which mainly include Free DVD Ripper, Freemake Video Converter or Nero BurnLite. You can download software of your choice. You should know that the interface of all the software is almost similar, but there are slight differences in the usage.

    After downloading the software, locate the file and run it. Follow the instructions to complete the installation process.

    Now, open the software and select the video file which you want to convert for your iPod. Please remember that you have to convert your file to iPod-compatible MP4 instead of just MP4 in order to keep its size smaller. The conversion will take some time, depending upon the size of the file.

    Then, open your iTunes and click on the ‘File’ menu. You will see the option ‘Add file to Library’, click on it and select the converted video file from your computer. After highlighting the file, click ‘Open’.

    Connect your iPod with your PC with the help of USB cable. The iTunes will automatically detect your device and its name will appear on the left side.

    If you have kept your settings on automatic synchronizing, the file will be automatically synced to your iPod from the iTunes library. However, if you have kept your settings on manual synchronizing, you will have to manually drag and drop the file from iTunes library to your iPod.

    Make sure that your file has been copied properly before pressing eject button which is right next to iPod’s icon. Just unplug your iPod from the computer and enjoy your movie.
