How to Treat Urinary Stones

Stones in the bladder are formed as a result of improper metabolism or irregularities in the body by some glands (thyroid, pituitary, adrenal gland). It mainly affects women who are overweight and men older than 35 years. This disease has a lot of discomfort and pain associated with it.

People get to know about this problem only after one of the stones gets into the bile duct and blocks the urinary passage. The main reasons for the formation of stones includes overeating, starvation diets, lack of exercise, poor diet, obesity, hormonal contraceptives and pancreatic disease. Treatment usually depends on the size of the stones and their location.

    Use of ursodeoxycholic and chenodeoxycholic acid can dissolve small stones. Unfortunately, this treatment takes at least a year to eliminate all stones and there is no guarantee that they will be completely gone.

    You should immediately contact a gastroenterologist after suffering pain in the lower abdominal region. If you constantly feel a bitter taste in your mouth, tightness in the right upper quadrant of the abdomen or nausea, then you need to undergo an emergency medical examination. If the diameter of stones is greater than 3 cm, a doctor usually refers a patient to go through shock wave lithotripsy. During the operation, the stones are crushed into small pieces (size: 1-2 mm) and then expelled from the body through the urinary tract.

    It is advised to drink lemon, beet and cucumber juice if you have kidney stones. Drink ten glasses a day and continue this therapy for three days in a week. Remember the goal is to flush out these stones through the use of fluids.

    Traditional medicine can also help in removing kidney stones with special infusions. Take one glass of squeezed garlic. Now take sunflower seeds (same amount as the previous one), honey and aloe juice. Pour the mixture into a jug. Put the jug in a dark place for next 12 days. Take one tablespoon of the mixture one hour before having a meal.
