How to Troubleshoot and Restore a Vista System
Computers users may experience system error while using Windows Vista operating system. The system becomes unbootable or do not work properly after being infected with a virus or can generate a hard disk failure or software failure error. Microsoft offers several ways to restore functionality of the various versions of Windows.
A system failure may occur after installing a program, the work of which damage the operating system. Fortunately, in these situations, it is not necessary to reinstall the operating system. In Windows Vista there is rollback option, which can be used to restore the previous state of the OS.

To restore the system when it is up and running, go to the "Start" menu. There, select "All Programs". Among various other options, you will find a "System Restore” option. Choose this option to begin restoring the system to its original factory settings.

Windows Vista will ask you what action you want to perform and to restore the system back to a normal state when it has not been affected by a virus, restore the system to an earlier date time.

A window will open with a calendar and a list of all the available restore points will appear. The selected point must be earlier than the changes made.

For cases where you cannot load the operating system, there are other methods to roll back Windows Vista. You need to boot into safe mode or restart the computer. A little earlier, it starts to boot the operating system, press F8, until the menu is being loaded and then select "Safe Mode."

When the system is in safe mode, as in the usual case, then roll back.

If you boot into safe mode did not work, then press re-boot system again or hit F8 on the keyboard. Select "Last Known Good Configuration” in case you forget when did you last used your system without malware. After this action, your system will successfully boot. Once the download has occurred, it is possible to do roll back.
