How to Use a Canon Powershot S3

Taking photographs is not just a hobby but it has become a need for us to preserve the special moments of our lives. Advancement in technology has made it very easy for us to take photographs these days. Most of the cell phones have a build-in camera for this purpose. However, cell cameras are not compared to the quality of photos taken by a Canon Powershot S3 digital camera.     First of all, you need to put in the batteries inside your Powershot S3 camera correctly. Open up the battery compartment on the right side of the camera and insert four AA batteries correctly aligned in it.

    Insert the memory card into the slot and press it until it clicks into its place. Turn on the camera for taking the photographs.

    You can find the mode dial on top of the camera and you should select ‘AUTO’ mode from it. This will make easier for you to take good quality pictures.

    Hold your Canon Powershot S3 in your both hands firmly and aim it at the object you want to take a photograph of. You can see a preview of the photograph on the LCD screen of your digital camera.

    Slightly press the shutter button and the camera will automatically focus the object in front of it. This focusing will be clearly visible on the LCD screen and a green light will appear to indicate that the camera is ready to take the photograph of the focused object.

    Press the shutter button fully down and its sound will tell you that the photograph has been taken. This photo will be saved on the memory card you inserted earlier.

    The taken image will be displayed on the LCD screen and you can see it for a while before the camera automatically prepares itself to take the next shot.

    Once you have taken the photographs, you need to store them on your computer hard disk so you can free the space from the camera’s memory card to take more pictures. Connect the USB cable to the computer and the camera. Make sure your Powershot S3 is turned off.

    Your computer will automatically detect the presence of an external memory device and you can easily copy all the photographs from your camera to it.
