How to Use a Mask and an Exfoliator

Your skin is the most exposed organ of your body and has a huge bearing on your appearance. Dead skin cells, sebum secretions and day-to-day dirt and dust accumulate on your skin, making it dull and dry. You need to exfoliate your skin regularly to remove the dead cells from the top most layer of your skin to reveal fresh and healthy skin underneath. Besides making your skin soft and supple, exfoliation also opens clogged pores. Hence, it is necessary to apply a face mask after exfoliation to tone your skin and close the open pores.

Things Required:

– Exfoliating scrub

    How to use an exfoliator

Pull all of your hair away from the face and secure them with a pony tail. If you have bangs, use bobby pins to hold them back. Dip a clean washcloth in hot water, squeeze out extra water and place it on your face for a couple of minutes. This process will open your pores.

Now wash your face with a cleanser appropriate for your skin type. Now you are ready to exfoliate your skin. Put a small amount of the exfoliant on a clean towel or rag and rub it gently on your face, in circular upward motions. Continue scrubbing your face until you feel you have exfoliated the whole of it. Rinse the exfoliant off your face with lukewarm water before washing your face with cold water to close the pores. Pat dry your face now and apply your regular moisturiser.

How to use a face mask

Wash your face with a gentle cleanser to remove all the dirt and grime. Take a small amount of the mask mixture on the tips of your fingers and spread it evenly all over your face (except eyes and lips) and neck.

Start from your chin and then move up to nose and forehead and in the end apply it on your cheeks. Leave the mask on for 15 to 20 minutes. If you have applied a mud mask, remove it with a washcloth dipped in hot water. You can also use tissues to wipe off a replenishing or hydrating mask. If it is a peel off mask, start peeling from the forehead and move down.
