How to Use a Positive Spin to Get the Message Across
When criticising or broaching a sensitive issue, one has to make sure that the message being delivered to the other person is taken in a positive sense. Most of the time, when parents try to explain something to their children, they fail to use a positive spin to get the message across, which results in further demotivation.
Let’s say your child has failed an exam, and you need to talk to him/her about it. You have to make sure that you don’t sound too harsh or unforgiving. Your criticism should be constructive, so that it makes your child mentally stronger, rather than having a detrimental effect.

The most important thing you need to do is stay calm. If you lose your temper, you will never be able to help the other person improve. If you are unable to control your temper at a particular time, it is better to defer the conversation, and initiate it when you are in a good mood. -
