How to Use a Toothpick for Nail Art
Nail art is becoming very popular nowadays especially amongst the teenagers. It is basically just using a variety of different nail polishes used to create a unique pattern or artistic design on the nails. Although it can be rather time consuming, there are various salons that cater to this type of need. However, if you decide that you want to do your own nail art then using a toothpick can help. It is not difficult and with a little patience you can easily use a toothpick to help decorate your nails.

Make a design:
Before using a toothpick for nail art it is very important that you first come up with a design or pattern that you will want to paint your nails. You can use the computer to look at different designs of nail art that is popular on the internet. If you are creative then come up with your own design. Try to keep it simple so that you do not spend all day trying to decorate for paint your nails. You can also make a template and print or draw it on a piece of paper to help you while you decorate your nails. -

Proper Supplies:
Put out all the proper supplies which include a variety of nail polish, a nail file, tissue paper and toothpicks. Keep all of these items close so that you do not have to wander around with wet nail polish looking for things that you might need for your nail art. -

File toothpicks:
Take your nail file and gently flatten one end of the toothpick. You can do this to a handful of toothpicks to use with different nail polish colours. -

Base coat:
Now apply the base coat of nail polish for your nail art. Remember this will be the bottom layer that is directly on your nails. Be sure that the colour is the one that you want to highlight the nail art or design that you will make on top of this base coat. -

Allow to dry:
Let the base coat dry so that it does not smear when you put on the other colours of nail polish to make your nail art. -

Dip toothpick in nail polish and apply:
Dip the toothpick in the nail polish that you want to use and carefully apply on to your nails in the design or pattern of your choice. When you want to apply a different colour then use a new toothpick that way there is no mixing of the various nail polishes.
