How to Use Mineral Oil as a Laxative
Mineral oil may be used as a laxative if you are suffering from constipation or want to clear your bowels. The oil is made of petroleum, and is extremely effective as a laxative. Mineral oil can be mixed with a drink or can be used alone because it has no taste, odour or colour. Furthermore, it can be easily found in major grocery shops or medical stores.

1
Measure the mineral oil and mix it with water
Using a medicine cup, you need to measure 1/2 ounce of mineral oil. You can add the mineral oil into a glass of water and stir for about 30 seconds with a tablespoon or a fork before you drink it. It is highly recommended that you drink the mixture in three breaths while sitting on a chair or a sofa. -
2
Use fresh juice for mineral oil
If you are not comfortable mixing the mineral oil with pure water, you may go ahead and add it in a glass of juice. Some experts believe that mineral oil should not be consumed with artificial flavoured juices. Therefore, you should have a juicer at home so that you can make fresh juice of your favourite fruit in the morning and add mineral oil to it. -
3
Drink pure mineral oil
There are many doctors who believe that the effect of the mineral oil is at its best when used pure without adding any water or juice. -
4
Consumption of water
If you are taking the mineral oil without adding anything else, you must have a minimum of 8 ounces of water right after drinking the oil. The water will help you stay hydrated. -
5
Increase the intake of mineral oil
As mentioned above, it is recommend that you drink only half an ounce of mineral oil per day. However, if you don't get the desired results, you may go ahead and increase the intake of mineral oil to 2 ounces a day.
