How to Use Miralax Prep
It has been seen that most people have to go through colonoscopies after getting over 50 years of age. This screening test is actually done for colon cancer and some other diseases as well, including gastroenterologist, celiac disease and Crohn’s disease. You must know that before going for a colonoscopy test, you have to undergo a thorough bowel cleansing at home just a day before the appointment with the doctor. The MiraLAX Prep method has made it easier this process and you can use this product at home to get ready for the colonoscopy.

You better purchase the required items for bowel cleansing beforehand. You need a bottle of MiraLAX, 64oz of Gatorade and 4 of the Dulcolax tablets.

Remember you are allowed to consume only clear liquids a day before your test. Gatorade, Kool Aid, Crystal Light, popsicles, broth, tea and coffee are some of the good examples of clear liquids permitted to be used.

Take all of the four Dulcolax tablets at about 4pm and you shall be ready for the prep procedure round about 6 to 7pm.

Add MiraLAX and Gatorade contents into a pitcher. It will be better if you add some ice to it, as this will make the taste a bit pleasant for you. Keep stirring the mixture and then let it settle for five minutes.

You have to slowly drink the mixture over a time period of 3 to 4 hours. Drink about 8 oz. of the mixture after every 20 to 30 minutes until you have finished it up completely.

You might start to feel some cramps when diarrhoea begins and you will need to go the bathroom for about 10 to 15 times during the entire cleansing process. It is better to stay close to a bathroom ao you can use it immediately when required.

It is also to be remembered that you don’t have to eat anything at all, even drinking water, for six hours before the procedure. Go through the appointment instructions thoroughly and make sure you comply with them fully.

The prep process is the hard one but the actual colonoscopy isn’t. Your physician will give you sedation and the process will end without causing any discomfort to you.

Once the colonoscopy is finished, you will be permitted to eat and drink as you wish but it is recommended to start up slowly, beginning with water and crackers.
