How to Write a Children\’s Picture Book
Writing books is no easy job, in fact, it is one of the hardest things to do. It takes years and years of training and research, before someone can go on and write a book that is half good, and would end up being liked by most of the readers.
Now what is even harder to do, is to go ahead and write books for younger, especially children. These people are the hardest to please, simply because they don’t have the same thinking process as a fully grown adult.
Most of the time, children don’t even want to read many words, in fact, they want to read a book that is filled with pictures, so that it is fun for them to look at it, while they read a minimal number of words at the same time.

Write story
The first thing you need to do while writing a picture book for children, is to write the story that you wish to depict with the pictures that you are going to be using in the book.
Now when writing the story, you need to know that the story needs to be very basic. You can’t use too many characters in the book, since the children might not be able to follow the story if you do.
At the same time, go ahead and rewrite the story a few times, till you can shorten it to the maximum possible limit. -

Get illustrator and start making images
Once you have the story down, the next step is to go ahead and hire an illustrator to help make the pictures.
Audition and interview a few illustrators, but go on and settle for the one who you think best understands what you are trying to project.
Once this happens, go ahead and start making some dummy images until you have your final images down to perfection. -

Arrange book and publish
Once you have the images down, go ahead and shortlist the ones you are going to be using. After you have done this, start arranging your book.
Get the final layout and plan going in your book, as you look to get the right images with the right text in your book.
After you have done this, do a final few reviews and see if anything could be improved upon.
Once you have everything sorted out, go ahead and send your book to get published.
