Writing a No Trespassing Letter

A no trespass letter is sent to anyone you want to forbid from entering your property. Regardless of the reason behind your decision, if you are in lawful control of a property, you have the right to deny access to any person and even seek legal action in case your decision is not respected.

    This letter is to officially notify you that you, John Anthony, are NOT allowed on the grounds of or inside any building or construction located at 78 Holborn Street, Boulevard Avenue, Goldtown.

    I, David Clark, the legal and lawful owner of the said property expressly forbid you from entering the premises addressed above.

    Failure to comply will result in legal action, including arrest and a fine of $150.00 or 15 days imprisonment, or both.

    It would be in your interest to refer to section 192 of the NTP Act, according to which any person who is forbidden by the lawful owner of a property from entering the premises is liable to be arrested, fined or imprisoned, or both.

    A copy of this letter is also being forward to the local police station for reference and record.

    Template of a No Trespassing Letter


    To: (Recipient’s name)
    From: (Your name)
    Date: (Today’s date)

    Through this letter I, (Your name), expressly notify you, (Recipient’s name), that you are NOT welcome on the grounds or any building of the property located at (Address of your property).

    I, (Your name), am the lawful owner of the property references above, and expressly forbid you from entering it according to (Local law – Statute).

    If you enter the property after the receipt of this letter, you will be liable for trespass and will either be arrested, or fined, or both.

    You can refer to (Section of local law) of the (Local law – Statute), which clearly states the right of a lawful owner of a property to forbid entry to another person and the punishment if the forbidden person fails to comply.

    The local police department will also be receiving a copy of this letter for reference.
