How to Write a Scene in a Script
The whole script of a film or a play consists of different scenes. In order to write a scene you must get yourself a notepad and a pencil and put yourself in a place where you think you are at your most creative. Think about all the characters, places and the dialogues which are going to take place between different people and start writing. Make sure that whatever you write in one scene, can be linked with the other scene so that a complete storyboard can be created. Here a few steps that will help you in writing a scene for a script.
Instructions
-
1
First of all, think about the whole story and what will happen during a scene. Try to jot everything down in points. Grab a notepad and write a sketch for each and everything that you think will happen during the scene. Write down the names of all the characters involved in one corner.

2
Always make sure that your scenes are not too long. Simply put a time limit on the scene and determine how long you want it to be. Obviously, you can’t do this while you are writing, but you can always put a limit on the number of pages you write. For instance, a fifteen-page scene might need 15 minutes of time on the stage. If you think that the scene you are writing is not significant enough to take 15 minutes of your stage time, either cut it short, or totally eliminate it.

Before you start writing, always make sure you write down the place where the scene needs to take place. One scene can only take place in a single place, you can’t be changing places. Therefore, if you think that a particular scene will take place in a hotel room, write it down.

Now note down all the characters which are going to be a part of the scene. Picture them closely and try to write all you can about them. Try to be consistent with their personalities and don’t shuffle things up.

To take a start, simply write a scribbled version of the script. This must include all the details of a particular scene, which consists of the names of the characters, what will happen, how it will happen and what the characters will say.
