    History of Hunterian Museum:

    Hunterian Museum in The Royal College of Surgeons initially began its operation after the government gave them collections of John Hunter. The government of that time had purchased these collections directly from John Hunter back in 1799. The initial design of Hunterian Museum was changed after reconstruction work took place in April 1834, which later gave this museum a newly designed building. Further alterations and renovations took place during 1850s and in late 1880s.
