Instructions

  • 1

First of all, take a medium saucepan, and boil the water. Mix the rice, and cover the pan. Don’t ever forget to reduce the heat because too much heat might spoil the taste. Let it boil for at least 20 minutes.

  • 2

Don’t waste any time. While the rice is cooking, place bacon in a large/deep skillet, and put it on the burner. Just like the rice, it should be cooked on medium-high heat. Cook until evenly brown. Now, drain, cool and crumble.

  • 3

The third step is all about mixing. You need a large bowl to mix the cooked rice, crumbled bacon, shrimp, ham, bell pepper, celery, onion, and tomatoes.

  • 4

Now, it is the time to prepare dressing. Whisk together the salad dressing, thyme, chili powder, garlic, and salt. Gently pour all the material over the rice mixture, and toss to coat. The dish is almost ready. Don’t forget to cover it before chilling in the refrigerator.
