Kazakhstan’s Olympic Teams Have A Secret Weapon

Olympic athletes always used to pack themselves with eccentric diets but athletes from Kazakhstan do things a little differently.

The Kazakh Olympic Team has decided to take its squad’s pre-Games diet to a new level by bringing horse meat to boost their athletes’ chances of success at London 2012.

However, it is still uncertain whether the sausages will be allowed to bring in, as there is a strict import policy in UK to import meat.

According to reliable sources, officials will bring kazy and karta sausages with them, to invigorate their wrestlers and weightlifters in their 114-strong Olympics crew.

Horse meat has long been considered as a favorite food among the people of Kazakhstan. The kazy is made from the guts and sausage skin of dried horse meat.

Yelsya Kanagatov, deputy chairman of the country’s Sport and Physical Education Agency said that, “There will be Asian, Muslim and other food, everything one can wish for. All kinds of food will be available there.”

“However, we are going to bring some additional Kazakh food for our wrestlers and weightlifters. We’ll bring kazy, karta and caviar for each team.”

The Kazahk team mainly consists of boxers, wrestlers and weightlifters, all sports for which players need to have a protein-rich diet.

But Kanagatov was somehow careful in emphasizing that he was not snubbing British food.

“The food is diverse and in plenty there,” he said. “There will be fruits, ice creams, juices – everything will be provided.”

“There are no problems with the food, all the athletes’ requests are usually taken into account.

The athletes from Kazakhstan are fiercely ambitious for London Olympics 2012, and the government has promised to give heavy cash to the successful athletes.

The Kazakhstan’s team has won 39 medals up till now, which include nine gold medals as well. The team made its first arrival in Summer Olympics in 1996.
