Kirsch Liqueur Drink Recipes
People often get confused between liqueur and liquor. Liquor is any alcoholic beverage that is prepared by distilling ethanol produced by fermenting fruits, vegetables or grains. Meanwhile, liqueur is also a distilled beverage, that has been flavoured with herbs, fruits, grains or flowers. The basic difference between the two is the amount of sugar that is present in the beverage; liqueur is just a little bit sweeter than liquor.
Kirsch liqueur, brewed from black Morrello cherries, is not as sweet as other brandies, and while its uses are versatile, it is most commonly used to prepare a variety of drinks. Just a tinge of Kirsch liqueur can totally change the taste of the finished product, and elevate it to a great degree. In addition to drinks, it is also used in a variety of dessert recipes, such as fritters and different types of cake.
