Learn How to Draw Cartoons

Out of all the activities that the kids enjoy being involved in, watching cartoons is probably the most common one. Hence if you want to engage your kids in some creative activities such as drawing or coloring, the cartoon characters can be the best choice for this purpose. Although you can find a lot of coloring books available rather easily in the market but if you able to draw those for your kids, this will not only be a good activity for them but will also make them learn something new. Initially the kids will enjoy coloring but sooner or later they will be able to sketch some cartoon characters by themselves. There are just few tips you need to know while drawing cartoons such as a cartoon Elephant.

Things Required:

Drawing Paper
Drawing Pencil
Compass for drawing circles

Instructions

    Draw four circles in such a way that two of them are of same size for the ears while the other two will represent the face and body respectively as shown in the diagram.

    Draw two rectangles in the biggest circle such that the upper sides of each rectangle lie inside the circle as drawn in the diagram.

    In the middle circle draw lines such that it is divided into four equal parts and lengthen the middle line to pass through the bigger circle as shown.

    To draw the eyes, make two small circles along the center line of the innermost circle such that the center line equally bisects the two small circles.

    For the tusks, draw two curved lines in opposite direction with their top starting just above the lower arc of the inner big circle as shown.

    To draw the trunk, make two lines in a V shape such that their upper part starts from the edge of the inner circle as shown and the bottom part surpassing the biggest circle.

    For the legs, draw two curve lines in each of the drawn rectangles such that they are diverging from each other and two curves right below the trunk showing the rare legs and another curve for the tail as shown.
