Little Angel Theatre London

With a capacity of 100 seats, Little Angel Theatre is showcasing tremendous efforts of artists and trying its level best to support/teach the development of puppetry. The theater organizes several programs throughout the year other than the short time period of summers and parents and children can also participate in this activity. Before the Little Angel Theatre was inaugurated, the place was famous by the name of Temperance Hall. By using Japanese puppet, Bunraku, in 2007, the company also participated in the production of Venus and Adnois, which was RSC. The actual aim of this theater is to keep puppets and puppetry fresh in people’s minds and give it exposure. The production team running this theater draws their own themes and stories by keeping in mind the cultural and traditional values. At this theater, Londoners will definitely experience the diversity in art.

    History:

    Under the production of Own and Touring on the 24th of November 1961, this puppet theater was inaugurated for children and families. Little Angel Theatre was showing artistic work and organizing several entertaining programs under the supervision of founder John Wright in Islington, London. But it is now being run by Peter Glanville as the artistic director since 2006.

    Things to do at Little Angel Theatre

    Several activities are organized at Little Angle Theater. Prominent ones are mentioned below:

    - Activities for schools are arranged in which workshops are organized and puppet making techniques are taught.

    - Courses for kids are scheduled in summers in which they can become members of a puppet club; parents can also participate in it.

    - Theater performances are organized for adults. If anyone is interested in them, he or she can take part in the puppet show.

    - Special courses for puppet styling techniques are held for adults as well as children.

    How to Reach Little Angel Theatre

    By Tube:

    Highbury and Islington tube station is 0.6 miles away from the theater and you will have to walk for 12 minutes to reach your destination. Head southeast on Holloway Rd/A1 from the station and then at the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Upper St/A1. Turn left onto Cross St, after covering 0.5 mile, and then take the last right turn onto Dagmar Terrace. Your destination will be on the right side of the road. View Map.

    By Bus:

    Islington, Cross Street (N1) (Stop E)‎ is 0.1 mile away from the theater and you will have to walk for 2 minutes to cover the required distance between the two locations. From the stop, head southwest on Essex Rd/A104 towards Dagmar Terrace and then take a right turn onto Dagmar Terrace. You will find the theater on the left side of the road. View Map.
