The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) is the government of UK’s regulatory body formed on April 01, 2003 by merging the Medicines Control Agency (MCA) and the Medical Devices Agency (MDA). Its purpose is to protect public health by encouraging the manufacture of safe medical devices and improve public involvement by letting them know about the positive effects, as well as the risks of the medicine and medical devices. The agency has 10 departments and divisions that help it perform the activities of monitoring and evaluating the products and medicines given to the general public. MHRA also gives scientific and regulatory advice to the businesses involved in the medicine and health care business.

Facilities & Services
MHRA probes and investigates ill effects of medicines on patients and any incidents that occur with medical devices and then takes appropriate actions to protect public health. It also sets and executes the supply chain and selling of medicines in UK. MHRA checks and ensures that manufacturers of medical devices properly ensure the safety of devices before launching them in the market. Another important role of MHRA is to bust the counterfeiting and/or illegal sale of medicines - especially over the internet. -
