The Ministry of Defence (MOD) is a department of the United Kingdom government that is liable for implementing the defence policies of the government. In addition to this, the Ministry of Defence (MOD) is also the center of operations of the British Armed Forces. The objective of the Ministry of Defence (MOD) is not only to defend the United Kingdom but also its interests, while at the same time strengthening international stability and peace. Additionally the Ministry of Defence (MOD) also takes care of daily running of their armed forces, defence procurement and emergency planning. At the moment MOD is focusing on locating weapons of mass destruction and international terrorism, as these are superseding threats to the United Kingdom’s interests.

Operational Hours:
The opening hours of the Ministry of Defence are 11:00 to 16:00 from Monday to Thursday. On Fridays, the operational hours are from 10:00 to 15:00. MOD remains closed each day between 12:00 and 13:00. -

How to Get to Ministry of Defence:
By Tube
The Charing Cross tube station is 0.3 miles away from the Ministry of Defence, which makes it a 6 minutes journey on foot. All commuters should do after coming out of the Charing Cross tube station is head southwest towards Northumberland Avenue/A400 then exit the roundabout onto Whitehall/A3212, from where they should turn slightly left to stay on Whitehall/A3212. This will lead the patrons to a left turn onto Horse Guards Avenue, after which visitors will make the final turn on the right to reach Whitehall Gardens in order to find the destination in front of them. By Bus
Bus numbers 741, 741D, 786 and 788 will take you to the nearest bus stop of MOD that is St James', Horse Guards Avenue (SW1) (E-bound). The gap between these two spots is 308 ft, which can be covered in 1 minute on foot. If the visitor moves in the west course on Horse Guards Avenue towards Whitehall Gardens and turns left onto Whitehall Gardens, they can find MOD in front of them.
