New Year’s Day Parade in London
New Years day Parade is an annual event held every 1st day of January in London. Numerous musicians and dancers in colorful clothing participate in this lively event. 10,000 performers participating, hundreds of thousands of live street audience, and even more people watching the parade from their TV sets – the New years day parade is remarkably one of the world’s largest street events. All of London’s Boroughs, including City of Westminster, have taken part in the event through any act or float to represent the Borough they are from. And whosoever wins, gets the prize that has now reached an exponential sum of GBP 40,000.

History
Started in 1987 as 'Lord Mayor of Westminster's Big Parade,' the event was renamed in 1994 as London Parade. In the year 2000, the event was named as 'The Millennium Parade' and then in 2001, another renaming took place and 'The New Year's Day Parade" name was assigned to it. -

There are parades from one place to the other, in which many people participate by representing different Boroughs through their floats and otherwise.
