Office for Budget Responsibility London

The Office for Budget Responsibility came into being in May 2010. The main objective of developing this office was to have independent and authentic economic predictions or forecasts in the backdrop of the United Kingdom’s Budget preparations and public finances. Due to its high standards, the Office for Budget Responsibility has quickly become a part of the official independent fiscal supervisory bodies around the globe. Before it was formally created in 2010, the Conservative party (opposition in 2009) had constituted it in December 2009 before general elections. This office is currently led by Robert Chote, who was previously associated with the Institute of Fiscal Studies as a director.
