Paddington Recreation Ground in London
Paddington Recreation Ground is yet another great sports facility located in the city of Westminster, London. It is the largest recreational park in that area and it lodges twenty seven acres of area. This place has been reserved for community service since 1860, and during recent years it has seen huge improvements as more than £5 million has been invested to improve the facilities present in the ground. It is equipped with state of the art 40 stations gym, a separate studio room, group exercises, café and children play area. There are a number of cricket, hockey and football pitches equipped with floodlights. The ground is also equipped with a new and improved athletics track and an outdoor gym.

History
In 1860, on the site of this ground, a cricket pitch was laid down by a local church and later in 1888 and 1889, Paddington Cricket Club made efforts to lease 9 acre of land for sports and recreational activities. The same ground was converted to a charitable trust in 1896. The gardens and green lands present in the southern part of the ground were built in memory of boy scouts who embraced death from 1939 to 1945. Later in 1987 to 1989, major refurbishment works took place. -

How to Get There
By Tube
The Paddington Recreation Ground is located about half a mile away from Maida Vale tube station which serves Bakerloo Lines. On leaving the station, head northwest on Randolph Avenue and then from the roundabout take the first exit onto Elgin Avenue. After 0.3 miles, turn right onto Morshead Road and keep walking for another 427 feet before making a right turn. After 0.1 miles, Paddington Recreation Ground will be on your right. View Map
By Bus
The ground is located about 6 minutes away from Cambridge Road Stop MV which serves bus numbers 6, 31, 328, N28 and N31. On leaving the bus stop head northeast and after 0.1 miles turn right and then again turn right. After 194 feet turn left and then again turn left. After another 476 feet, the ground will be on your left.
