    History:

Parliament hill was named as Traitor’s Hill initially but later in the 17th century, it was renamed as the Parliament House because in the English Civil war, the location was protected by troops of the English Parliament.  During the reign of Henry I, the authority of Parliament Hill was granted to Richard de Balata who was known to hold the title of nobility. Later when Henry II acquired the throne, his butler Alexander de Barentyn was honored with the authority.

In the 19th century people started buying the land of Parliament Hill in order to initialize construction but after a few years, the entire hill was bought in £ 300,000 and was added within the geographical premises of Hampstead Heath.
