Princess Diana Memorial Playground in London

The Princess Diana Memorial Play Ground is located next to Kensington palace and is situated in Kensington Gardens. This place is the former home of Princess Diana but it now serves as a great play ground for children of up to 12 years of age. The playground is full of fun stuff for children, including a beautiful pirate ship that is the most anticipated thing present in the ground. This place was converted to a playground because of the love and affection princess Diana had for children. The popularity of Princess Diana Memorial Playground can be gauged by the number of children that visit it – and it stands at an average of 750,000 children!

    History

    Princess Diana Memorial Playground reminds us of the love she had for children. Although this play ground does not have a rich history but it is still a fabulous place to visit. This place was once used as a residence by Princess Diana and after her death, it was dedicated as a playground for children of age up to 12. It was opened for the first time on the 30th of June 2000 and its design has been inspired by the stories mentioned in Peter Pan written by J.M. Barrie.

    Tickets and Entry Requirement

    Entry to Princess Diana Memorial Play Ground is free for all and only children of age up to 12 can play inside. If there's anybody older than that age, they can chill out in the park but can't play.

    Operational Hours

    The playground has different opening times during each month. It opens from 10:00 am to 7:45 pm from May to August while from April to September, it opens from 10:00 am to 6:45 pm. During March and Early October, it operates from 10:00 am to 5:45 pm. It runs from 10:00 am to 4:45 pm in February and late October while in November and January, it is open from 10:00 am to 3:45 pm. All of these timings are for seven days a week.

    How to Get There

    By Tube

    The playground is located about 2 minutes away from Queensway Tube Station which serves Central line services. On leaving the station, head west on Bayswater Road and after 157 feet, turn left onto the Palace gate and then turn right. After 177 feet, the playground will be on your left. View Map

    By Bus

    You can also get there by bus  reaching at Queensway bus station and following same directions as from Queensway Tube Station. It will take two minutes to reach there. This bus stop serves bus numbers 70, 94, 148, 390 and N207.
