Procedure for Applying a Pakistani Tourist Visa in Ottawa
Pakistan, known officially as the Islamic Republic of Pakistan is a country in Asia that is bordered by India, Afghanistan, Iran and China. With a population of in excess of 170 million, Pakistan is the sixth most populated country in the world and has the second largest Islamic population behind Indonesia.
Beyond geography, Pakistan which was once part of India is a wellspring of history and ancient civilization. The ethnically and linguistically diverse country is worth visiting for people of Pakistani origin or interested tourists alike.
The following Step by Step guide details what is required in order to successfully apply for a Pakistani tourist visa in Ottawa.

The NICOP is a registration document to be issued to any valid/legitimate citizen of Pakistan.
The POC program endeavours to provide eligible foreigners Visa-free entry into Pakistan. It also allows for indefinite stay in Pakistan, exemption from foreigner registration requirements, permission to purchase and sell property and the right to open and operate bank accounts.

Before Applying
Prior to applying for a tourist visa, it is important to determine if this the correct visa for your needs. For more information on the various types of visas, feel free to contact the High Commission. The various visas available can be found at the top of the application form discussed in Step 2.
Note: Issuance of a visa is not a right, but rather a determination by the Pakistan government. -

Application
The application form for Canadian Nationals and Nationals of any other currently with “Landed Immigrant Status” in Canada is available here.
The following items are required in order for the visa application to be accepted:
- a clear copy of your Canadian passport data sheet (page with applicant’s photo and data);
- if you are of Pakistani decent, a copy of a Pakistani CNIC or passport of one of your parents;
- if the visa is being claimed on the basis of marriage to a Pakistani national, the original marriage certificate and copy of the Pakistani ID card of the spouse;
- all applications require two identical passport sized colour photographs of the applicant stamped by the photographer taken within the past 3 months, a Candian or Pakistani address and two contact phone numbers; and
- the completed and signed visa application submitted either in person or via registered/courier mail along with the required visa fee.

Visa Fee
The fee for a Canadian passport holder for a single-entry visa and multiple-entry visa are $100 and $190 CAD respectively. Parents are required to pay an additional $100 for children who are included in their parent’s passport if travelling with their parent. A full fee schedule is available here.

Note: Fees are accepted in the form of money order, bank draft or certified cheque in the name of High Commission of Pakistan. Applicants can also pay via cash, debit or credit card during the application deposit times stated above. Visa fees are non-refundable. Visas sent by mail must include all required documents, fee and a return pre-paid, self-addressed courier envelope. -

Delivery Time
For applicants of Pakistani decent, the processing time for a visa is 48 hours. The time varies between 6-12 days for all other cases. Please plan the application and your trip accordingly.
