Requirements
Every country has certain requirements for the visitors that should be completed before you are eligible to get tourist visit visa. South African High Commission has set some requirements for the applicants from Ottawa. Your application pack should include the following requirements.
(a) Completed and duly signed application form.
(b) Valid passport that should be valid one month after your intended departure from the South Africa. Your passport should have at least one blank visa page.
(c) One photocopy of the original passport.
(d) Two passport sized photographs that should be fresh and in light colour background.
(e) Bank statement, Salary advises, and Cash and Debit or credit cards to show that you can bear your expenses of your visit.
(f) Return ticked only if you are travelling through air.
(g) You also need to submit marriage Certificate/Divorce decree if visiting for more than 90 days.
(h) You may also need to submit the proof of your hotel booking
(i) In some cases you may also need to submit vaccination certificate.
(j) You also need to submit a medical and radiological report that should be signed by your practitioner.
If you are not Canadian Nationals, you may have to submit some additional documents as required by the South Africa High Commission in Ottawa.

Fee
South African High Commission has single visa application fee for all applicants. You need to submit CAD $79 dollars to South African High Commission. You can pay the fee in cash or either by postal order or bank draft that should be made payable to the “South African high Commission” or “South African Consulate General, Toronto”.

Submission of Application
If you are the resident of Ontario, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Quebec, British Columbia, Manitoba, Yukon, and Northwest Territories you will submit your application to the South African Consulate General in Toronto. However, if you are the resident of the Greater Ottawa Area, Nunavut, Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, you must submit your application to the South African High Commission in Ottawa.

You can submit an application form either by visiting in person or you can mail using register postal service or courier. Processing Time
After receiving you application, the visa consular section of South African High Commission check and issues you visa within 10 business days. However, your application should be completed in all respect if you want to avoid any delays.

Receive Visa
If you have submitted your application in person, you can collect your visa visiting the Consulate General of South Africa in Toronto, or High Commission in Ottawa depending upon your consular jurisdiction. Visas can only be collected be collected from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm from Monday to Thursday. If you submit your application via postal service, consular service will send back your passport and original document with visa.
