Procedure for Applying Uganda Tourist Visit Visa from Ottawa

Uganda is popular among tourists because of its spectacular scenarios, diverse culture and amazing traditions. Because of its growing demand in tourism industry, many Canadians also schedule their trip to this unique African Country. Even though the Uganda High Commission in Ottawa has exempted many countries from Visa requirement, still Canadian citizens and nationals of many other countries have to get a tourist visit visa before entering into Uganda. The procedure is simple and requirements are general with some specific conditions.     Visa Exempted Countries:


    Nationals of the below given countries need not to get visa to enter Uganda.

    CUBA (DIPLOMATIC AND OFFICIAL / SERVICE PASSPORT HOLDERS ONLY)

    Vis Application Form


    All those who need a visa to enter Uganda need to get visa application form. It can be obtained from the Visa Section of the Uganda High Commission in Ottawa. It can also be downloaded from the official website of the Uganda high Commission while alternatively you can download it from the link which is given below;

    Requirements


    You need to fulfil the following requirements to get a tourist visit visa of Uganda from Ottawa.


    a)      Two fully completed application forms,


    b)      Two colour passport sized photographs,


    c)       Valid passport with at least six months to expiry date,


    d)      Visa fee,


    e)      Proof of finance.


    f)       If you are travelling through are vibrated by yellow fever, you may need to provide a yellow fever certificate.


    g)      Self Addresses, prepaid, return envelope.

    Visa Fee


    Visa Fee for Single Entry Visa valid for three months is 50 USD. Payment can be made in cash or by money order made payable to the name of the “Uganda High Commission Ottawa”.

    Submission of Application


    The submission of application can be done by personally visiting or through the postal service. If you want to submit in person, you need to take your completed application package along with visa fee and other documents at the visa section of the High Commission. You can submit your application between 10:00 and 14:00 from Monday to Friday. If you want to submit your application through postal service, you need to send a self addressed, prepaid, stamped return envelope along with your application. You should also use a registered mail to avoid loss of documents.

    Processing Time


    Visa is issued within two working days after the receipt of the Visa Applications. However the time may change for specific applications.

    Receive Visa


    If you submit visa in person, you will receive it in person from the visa section of the High Commission. If you submit it by postal service, the visa will be delivered at the address you mentioned at the time of application. It will be delivered to you after issuance of visa.

    Check List


    Check these documents before sending:


    a)      Completed application form,


    b)      Passport is valid for six months,


    c)      Visa fee is paid,


    d)      Bank statement is attached,


    e)      Photographs are attached,


    f)  And any other document is attached that is required by the High Commission.
