    Visa Exempted Countries


    Canadian citizens do not require visa to enter into Uruguay. However, the Nationals of other countries need to get a visa from the Consulate before travelling to Uruguay.

    First of all get, visa application from the visa section of the Uruguay Consulate in Ottawa. You can also download it from the official website of the Consulate. Alternatively, you can download it from the link given below.

    Visa Requirements


    Following are the requirements that you need to complete:


    a)      Completed Application Form,
    b)      Valid passport that should have six months to expiry date,
    c)       Visa Fee,
    d)      Bank Statement,
    e)      Travel Itinerary,
    f)       Two passport sized photographs in light colour background
    g)      Hotel booking,
    h)      Prepaid, self-addressed, stamped postal return envelope.

    Visa Fee


    You need to submit CDN $42 via Money Order made payable to the name of the “Consulate of Uruguay”. Remember cash is not accepted.

    Submission of Application


    You can submit application in person or by mail. If you want to submit by physical appearance, you need to visit the Visa Section of the Consulate between 09:00 and 13:00 from Monday to Friday. If you want to submit it by mail, you need to use registered mail only. Regular Mail applications will not be accepted.

    Processing Time and Collection


    All visas applications are processed in five working days after receipt of application. Visa will be issued on the sixth day, however, in case of holiday; you can collect it next working day. If you submit your application by mail, it may take some time due to the time consumed in a mailing process.
