Pumpkin Martini Cocktail Recipe

A pumpkin martini is a fantastic cocktail for the fall season, and particularly for Thanksgiving and Halloween parties. With a tempting, rich, orange colour, this martini contains Sylk cream liqueur and vanilla vodka, with the pumpkin flavour coming from pumpkin liqueur (if this is unavailable, you can simply substitute it with pumpkin spice syrup, or pumpkin puree). To complete the rather decadent cocktail, a dollop of whipped cream is floated on top of the drink, and a cinnamon stick is added to serve as a spicy and flavourful stirring stick. Line pumpkin martinis around a Jack-o-Lantern to serve visitors for Halloween, or make them to whet your guests’ appetites for the scrumptious Thanksgiving dinner to come.

Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Serving Size: Serves 1 person
Utensils: Cocktail shaker, martini glass, strainer

Ingredients:
1/2 oz Sylk cream liqueur
– 2 oz vanilla vodka
– 1/2 oz pumpkin liqueur/pumpkin spice syrup/pumpkin puree
– 1 tablespoon whipped cream
– Crushed ice
– Cinnamon stick for garnishing purposes

Instructions

  • 1

Start by placing your martini glass in the refrigerator, so that it can chill while you prepare the drink. A cloudy, frosted glass will lend just the right kind of visual appeal to your pumpkin martini.

  • 2

Next, take a cocktail shaker, and fill about a quarter of it with crushed ice – you can also use whole ice cubes for this purpose, if you do not want your pumpkin martini to be too watery in consistency.

  • 3

Once the shaker is loaded with ice, proceed to pour in 1/2 oz of Sylk cream liqueur and 2 oz of vanilla vodka. Screw the lid onto the cocktail shaker tightly, and give it a couple of vigorous shakes, until all the ingredients have mixed together properly.

  • 4

Then, add in 1/2 oz of pumpkin liqueur (or its substitutes, if you are unable to find it in the market). Once again, screw on the lid of the cocktail shaker, and shake it to blend all the ingredients together.

  • 5

Once the drink is blended, take your chilled martini glass out of the refrigerator, and strain the blended beverage into it. Finally, top the drink with a tablespoon of whipped cream, and garnish it with a cinnamon stick. Your pumpkin martini is now ready – serve chilled.
