History
The Royal Albert Hall had a grand opening in 1871 by Queen Victoria and it was initially decided to name the hall as “The Central Hall of Arts and Sciences”. However, the name was revised by Queen Victoria to Royal Albert Hall of Arts and Sciences while laying the foundation stone of the building in 1867. She did this as a dedication to her deceased husband and consort Prince Albert who envisaged the formation of a central hall that would encourage the understanding of Arts and Sciences. -
