Samsung Galaxy SIII Sales Top 10 Million In Just Two Months
Samsung’s head of mobile communications, JK Shin predicted two months earlier that he will achieve the target of 10 million sales of Galaxy SIII by the end of July, and the smartphone has seemingly passed that milestone a bit early.
Before the time of its launch, the company received a record 9 million pre-orders for their highly anticipated android phone. And Samsung had to face a 2 million loss in their sales because of high demand of Galaxy SIII last month.
With the 10 million sales, Samsung Galaxy SIII has become the most sold gadget in history, leaving behind SII which took almost five months to achieve the same milestone when it was launched in 2011.
While speaking to the media, Shin confirmed that Samsung Galaxy SIII has exceeded the 10 million sales mark by selling an average of 190,000 S3 phones a day in the last two months.
The company also announced that by the end of this month, the Android-powered smartphone can be obtained from 296 carriers in 145 countries – making it the company’s biggest launch ever of a smartphone.
The high end Samsung Galaxy SIII which comes with a 4.8 inch display and face-recognition technology was highly appreciated by a mobile analyst Jeffrey Van Camp when he recently got the device and said that it is “the hot phone of the moment.”
With the SIII having quickly established its footprints in the market, all eyes have now shifted to Samsung’ main competitor – Apple – to see if it can bring something extraordinary for its consumers in the next iteration of its iPhone expected to launch in September or October.
Apple certainly sold massive 35.1 million iPhones in the first quarter of this year, but with more high-end Android phones coming to market it would be difficult for Apple to maintain these kinds of stats.
