Sesame Broccoli Salad Recipe

Sesame Broccoli Salad is perfectly refreshing side dish for any light lunch, dinner, barbeque or party. This flavorsome and tantalizing delicacy has the capability to whet your appetite. Moreover, this recipe is easy and very simple to make as you just need boil the broccoli slices and mix them with the remaining ingredients.

Ingredients:

– 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
– 1 ½ pounds fresh broccoli – cut into bite size pieces
– 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
– 2 tablespoons soy sauce
– 2 tablespoons sesame oil
– 2 teaspoons white sugar

    Preheat oven

    Firstly, preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (F°) or 190 degrees Celsius °C.

    Toast the sesame seeds

    Place 2 tablespoons of sesame seeds in the pre-heat oven and toast them for 4 to 5 minutes or until lightly brown in color. Remove the seeds from oven and set aside to cool to handle.

    Set a pot of water on stove

    Pick a medium pot and fill it with water. Set it on stove and bring the water to boil over medium range of heat.

    Rinse and cut the broccoli

    In the meantime, take 1 ½ pounds of fresh broccoli and rinse it thoroughly. Then drain the broccoli and wait until dry completely. Now, take a large knife and cut the broccoli into bite size pieces.

    Cook the broccoli slices

    Add the broccoli slices to the boiling water and let them cook for 4 to 5 minutes or until you achieve the desired tenderness.

    Drain the boiled broccoli slices

    Drain the boiled broccoli slices with a large sieve and gently transfer them to a large bowl. Set it aside to cool until you prepare the dressing for the salad.

    Make the dressing

    Grab a medium bowl and add in 2 tablespoons of rice vinegar. Top it with same quantity of soy sauce, sesame oil and white sugar. Whisk all the dressing ingredients until the sugar dissolves completely and blend well.

    Mix the ingredients

    Top the boiled broccoli slices with the dressing and toss them well until properly coated.

    Sprinkle the salad with the previously toasted sesame seeds to give it amazing crunchy finishing touch. Serve and enjoy!
