Silver Fizz Cocktail Recipe

Silver Fizz, containing gin, sugar, rose’s limejuice, albumin, and soda water, is one among the famous cocktails. Harry Craddock of Savoy Hotel, who is an American citizen, discovered this popular drink. Craddock was the founder of many other popular classical drinks. The original recipe of silver fizz was published in Craddock’s in 1930 entitle “The Savoy Cocktail Book.” However, slight changes were made in the ingredients of Silver Fizz in order to bring variation in this cocktail. Equipments used: Cocktail shaker and Collins or highball glass

Ingredients;

Juice of half a lemon

(1/2 tablespoon) powdered sugar

(4 oz) gin

(1/2 oz) Rose’s limejuice

Albumin (white portion) of one egg

Soda water

Crushed ice

Lemon peel for garnishing –optional

    Take a cocktail shaker and half fill it with crushed ice. You can use ice cubes as well.

    Pour Juice of half a lemon and 1/2 tablespoon powdered sugar, 1/2 oz Rose's limejuice, and white portion of an egg (albumin) into the cocktail shaker.

    Completely cover the lid of your cocktail shaker and shake it gently for few seconds until the sugar dissolves and the ingredients mix thoroughly. Make sure not to shake it vigorously as it can bruise the gin and results in a heavy juniper berry flavour. Set your cocktail shaker for few seconds at room temperature.

    Meanwhile, take a Collins or highball glass and place the remaining crushed ice. Now, gradually strain the cocktail shaker’s mixture into it.

    Top the drink with soda water, garnish it with lemon peel, and serve instantly.
