Sizzling Turkey and Orange Salad Recipe

Despite the fact that it is called a “salad”, the sizzling turkey and orange salad is a full time meal, and is meant for all those who love sizzlers. This super tasty sizzling salad is prepared in roughly 45 minutes, depending on how skilled you are when it comes to frying the turkey. Comprising meaty chunks of turkey, flavoured with the fruity tartness of oranges, and the sweetness of the honey and onions, this salad is a must-try.

Preparation Time: 10 to 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 to 30 minutes
Serving Size: Serves 3 to 4 persons
Utensils: Frying pan, small bowl, chopping board, chopping knife, salad serving platter

Ingredients:

– 500g turkey meat (boneless)
– ½ cup onions, finely chopped
-1 tablespoon finely chopped garlic
– 3-4 oranges
– ¼ cup honey
– ¼ cup olive oil
– Salt (to taste)
– Freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
– Red chilli powder (to taste)

Instructions

  • 1

First of all, peel the oranges, and squeeze their juice out into a bowl – however, make sure you reserve the left over orange slices. Then, add the honey, chopped onions, salt, black pepper, and red chilli powder to the orange juice, and stir it all in. Set this aside.

Next, place the turkey on a chopping board, and slice the meat into thin, longitudinal slices. Then, coat the sliced meat with the orange juice mixture you prepared earlier, and allow the turkey to marinate in this mixture for around half an hour.

Once half an hour has elapsed, and the turkey has had sufficient time to soak up the marinade, add some oil to a frying pan and put it on the stove over low heat. Add the meat slices to the frying pan, one by one, and let them fry until they are cooked through, and develop a light, golden brown colour.

Then, take out the serving platter and scatter all the left-over orange slices over this. Place the slices of fried turkey over all of these, and then add the finishing touch – the sizzler. Heat some more oil in a frying pan placed over medium heat, and add in the chopped garlic. Allow this to fry until it becomes light brown in colour and begins to sizzle. Then, pour it all over the fried turkey – your sizzling turkey and orange salad is now ready to serve.
