How to Avoid Data Charges using stay.com

Stay.com, a Norway based company, allows its users to explore exciting sights, restaurants, attractions and nightlife – eventually creating the perfect trip with friends and family.  The company now introduces mobile apps to enable its users to access travel guides on their phones. The app provides downloadable maps which help users to use them even when they are offline.

These types of apps are a relief at times when you are exploring a new city or looking for new places, but when you are done and you see a huge data roaming bill, it can become quiet irksome.

However, the latest update from Stay.com has ultimately cut this cost if you remember to do your downloading when leaving for an outdoor trip.

These maps take very less space on users’ phones (below 5MB) which is very helpful for them to get a smooth planning and zooming experience, and save time from long loading process.

The functionality is extremely useful for those who used to take help from paper book guides to plan their trips. In addition, the site provides different ways to users to find expert opinion, feedback from other travelers and adds a social component so you can take advices from your pals.

Guides and maps of more than 100 cities are available for Smartphones, and any further information from personal guides can be automatically updated when you are in the range of Wifi connectivity.

Some more details have been added from different sites including TripAdvisor, TimeOut and Google Places. Facebook users can also add this app to their profiles so that they can personalize their guides by requesting suggestions from friends.

“We are thrilled to offer users a better way to plan trips and travel on both web and mobile,” said Joachim Paasche, founder and CEO of Stay.com – a website which was included in Top 50 websites by TIME Magazine in 2010. “By providing travelers with a truly social experience, they can create a city guide that’s completely personal combining recommendations from experts and their friends.”

The company has chosen the perfect timing for the launch of this app because summer travel season is in full swing these days.
