Steps to Become a Pharmacist
Pharmacists have an important role to play in society. They are part of both hospitals and community pharmacies where they provide people with medications and make sure that they get right ones. They also play a part in the pharmaceutical research.
Not only is this profession noble in nature, it is also well paying. The pays that pharmacists get almost rival those of doctors in many countries.
Becoming a pharmacist is not the hardest thing to achieve but it does take a lot of effort and a single minded approach towards the achievement of the goal.

Assess if it is for You
The first thing to look into is that whether the profession can work for you or not. Being a pharmacist can be dull and boring for some people and although it is a noble cause and pays well, it may not be for everyone. Get loads of information about how the profession works. You can also meet your local pharmacist at some pharmacy and they will certainly be able to get you some useful information about the line of work.

Pre-Pharmacy
The next step is to becoming a pharmacist is to get an admission in a pre-pharmacy program in a college. The program is generally two years long. You will need to have good SAT scores in order to find your way into the program with relative ease. Make sure that you stay in good touch with your student counselor and take the right courses.

Get an Admission in a Reputed Institute
You should apply in several pharmacy schools after you have completed your pre-pharmacy. If you have scored well, you should be able to get an admission offer from more than one of these schools. Make sure that you pick your school on the basis or rankings and reputation. A good school can be helpful in the longer run for your career.

Get Practical Experience
The next thing to do after you have completed your pharmacy school is to get experience in the field. If you want to continue your work in the clinical side, you will be required to do a one or two year long residency or fellowship.

Get Your License.
After completing studies and getting the required experiences, you will need to get your license for practicing as a pharmacist. It can be from the local governing body or from one that operates at the national level. A national level license can be a better option as it can allow you to get job opportunities in areas outside your current state or province of residence.
