Football has three main positions; forward, midfield and fullback. Take the children to the field and explain the positions to the children. Let each child play from each position so that they realize where they do best or are comfortable with. Switching position also build a versatile player who owns the ground.

An essential position that you should train the children in is goal keeping. Train the children in how to stop the ball with their feet, hands and body.

    Dribbling:

The term 'dribbling' in football means to move with the ball in control, the final aim being to score. Demonstrate basic dribbling to the children and show them how to protect the ball from opponent players by dodging and using the body and to not let the ball out of control. Dribbling gets better with practice when the children explore the arts of control, dodge and play.

    Shooting:

Shooting is to kick the ball over to some player or to the net to score. Practice shooting with footballs placed in a line and letting the children shoot with focused eyes and hitting the center of the ball in a full swing in the desired direction. Shooting asks for concentration, power and sense of direction and children will only master it if they practice regularly. Use the instep, instep, where the laces are for shooting the ball. For normal passes, use the inside blade of the foot.
