The Electoral Commission is a self-governing body that was set up by the United Kingdom’s Parliament. The main objective of the Electoral Commission is to standardize both election finance and political parties. In addition to this, the commission also sets standards for organising free and fair elections. In short their goal is integrity, and to raise public confidence in the democratic procedure. In order to achieve this goal the Electoral Commission also carries out various researches and makes plans so it could improve its role.
