The Olympic Stadium London
The London Olympic Stadium is currently third largest stadium in Britain with the capacity of 80,000 spectators. Being, such a big sports venue, the stadium is to host all athletics events of 2012 Olympics and Paralympics.
The stadium is most modern mega structure in London and is said to be the most sustainable built architecture so far. The stadium is 75% lighter than other stadiums in terms of steel usage and contains 40% less embodied carbon as compared to usual stadiums.

History:
London Olympic Stadium was mainly built for 2012 London Olympics. The design was finalized in 2007, construction started in 2008 and the project was completed in less than three years when in 2011 it was all done.
Though the main purpose of building this stadium was 2012 London Olympics, but it’s to be used for other Athletic, sports and cultural events in future.

What's inside the London Olympic Stadium:
The stadium has 80,000 seating capacity, including 25,000 permanent seats and 55,000 temporary. There's 9 lane Mondo athletics track, 105m x 68m grass pitch, 60m indoor sprint track, office, lecture & conference room and an 80m warm up track. It's a multipurpose venue for sports and cultural events and has medical facilities for athletes and spectators. For businesses the venue offers a great deal of advertising opportunities.

How to Get There:
By Tube:
Stratford tube station is the nearest one to the Olympic stadium. From the station exit start heading northeast on Meridian Square and then take a slight right on Great Eastern Rd/A11. Keep on walking in A11 and then move right to Carpenters Road. After round 300 ft, take a left turn and then a right one and stadium will be in front! Follow the link to find directions.
By Bus:
Warton Rd Stratford High St Stop K is the nearest bus stop from where you need to walk towards Carpenters Rd. From there take a left turn after covering about 300ft and then turn right. Bus numbers 25, 108, 276, 425 and N8 will take you to the stop.
