The Palm Trilogy Dubai

Palm Trilogy is rightly called the 8th wonder of the world for its iconic design, structure and built. It has branches spread in the sea which look like a palm tree when an aerial view is taken. Consisting of Palm Jumeirah, Palm Deira and  Palm Jebel Ali, Palm Trilogy has managed to add 520 kms to Dubai’s shoreline.

It is still in the construction phase, which is being carried out by Nakheel Properties, but once complete, all three islands will consist of residential complexes, restaurants, hotels, entertainment and sports facilities.

    History

It was in the late 1990’s when Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai realized Dubai faced the issue of beach front shortage. A sketch was made of the palm tree and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid realized this will add to the area. After the construction gets completed, it will add 520 kms of shoreline space.

The construction of the first island, Palm Jumeirah, was started in 2001 followed by Palm Jebel Ali. It was after 3 years that the development work on Palm Deira was announced, in 2004. The construction and land reclamation work was estimated to take 10-15 years but now after the global recession that has also hit Dubai, the work may be prolonged.
