Theatre Royal Drury Lane’s Theatre London
Theatre Royal Drury Lane stands amongst the top theatres of the British capital and it has also been one of the early theaters in London which have monopoly rights of producing legitimate (which means they have the rights to produce spoken plays rather than dance, opera, plays with music etc) drama in the capital of Great Britain. The high quality of the dramas which Theatre Royal Drury Lane has produced so far can be judeged from the fact that monarchs quite regularly visit it to watch the plays. Theatre Royal Drury Lane has a seating capacity of 2,222 people, which are segregated into five different sections called Stalls, Royal Circle, Upper Circle, Balcony and Boxes.

History of Theatre Royal Drury Lane:
Theatre Royal Drury Lane was opened in 1663 after Thomas Killigrew requested to construct this theatre during the early years of English restoration. However, its original name was not Theatre Royal Drury Lane at that time. It was called Theatre Royal, Bridge Street, but the 1672 fire destroyed it. This is when Killigrew built a brand new and more spacious building on the same site, which was designed by Sir Christopher Wren and renamed as “Theatre Royal Drury Lane,” which was opened in 1674. It was rebuilt again twice after that - once in 1794 and third time 1812. -
