Turnham Green Tube Station London

The District and Piccadilly Lines meet at Turnham Green tube station, which is located in Chiswick. The London and South Western Railway, also known as L&SWR, finished constructing the tracks and station in 1869. The station got another boost when it was added to the Super Outer Circle service in 1878, however, it was not a success and was ended in 1880. Turnham Green Tube station also saw some upgrades when the trains started to be switched over to electric, and eventually the Piccadilly line started to run through the station in 1932. The station was also used as a testing ground for new automated ticketing systems in the 60’s, which were eventually added to all stations in the London tube network. Today, the station has a main entrance from Turnham Green Terrace that is used to enter the ticket hall and the same route is used for an exit, while various facilities are made available like telephone, taxi rank, and photo-booth and special assistance for the blind and deaf, including staff guidance.
