Ultrasnow & Redsn0w for IOS 5.1.1 Available Now
The guys over at DevTeam have done it again and released a brand spanking new version of ultrasnow so that all users out there running their iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS on iOS 5.1.1 can jail break without fear. The latest version is available for download from the DevTeam blog and many reviews across the internet have confirmed that the new ultrasnow works smoothly as ever. After jail breaking the device it will also make sure that any lockdown methods put in place by the wireless carrier will not bother the user.
People looking to use the Version 1.2.7 jailbreak tool on the iPhone 4 should make sure the device is running on baseband 01.59.00. For others that still own the iPhone 3G or 3GS must be sure that the iOs versions are either 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, 05.13.04 or 06.15.00 in order for the latest version of ultrasnow to work properly.
The ultrasn0w release was not the only good news coming from the DevTeam and they also gave out a link to the latest RedSn0w for both Windows and Mac machines. The RedSn0w (0.9.12b1) makers utilized the same loophole as in the last version of the tool to create an untethered hacking method for all devices using Cupertino’s A4 chip. This is why the team was quickly able to make the coding available for any devices that runs iOS 4.3.2. Interestingly the iPad 2 is still not supported and users will just have to wait and see whether they will get something in the future. Owners of the iPad 2 can take some respite in the fact that several users of the latest RedSn0w have reported issues that will need fixing.
The jailbreak community should be happy for the next couple days as they try out the new tools on their devices and give out reviews and impressions.
