Windows 8 Preview Expected to Be Available In First Week of June

Microsoft’s Windows 8 rumors have started hitting online news outlets after blog posts mentioning the date appeared online. The blog post was found on a Windows developer blog but has since been taken down. The Windows 8 Release Preview is expected to be available for download in the first week of June and most probably on June 1 and users should be able to obtain a copy for public testing at that time.

The rumored release date for the Windows 8 Preview has taken many observers by surprise because numerous observers expected the full version to be released in October. However, with the new bits of information indicate a release date much sooner than expected. The now offline blog posts also mention some other interesting snippets of news including a new Windows Driver Kit 8 and the Visual Studio 2012 Release Preview.

More fuel to the fire is added by reports that a Chinese version of Windows 8 has ended up online and can be found on file sharing sites. The legitimacy of the Windows Build 8400 was not able to be confirmed directly but many Chinese users have claimed the leaked software to be real. The 64-bit version for the Chinese seemed to be the only version available and no other language has yet to see a leaked copy. Some people think the rumor is bogus because a link that was making the rounds only brought the user to a corrupt file.

This is may not be the first time a Windows version has been leaked to the public. Windows 7 faced difficulties when several versions of the software were available online before the announced release date. This time around Windows 8 has seen very few such episodes which can be attributed to either new security protocols or a general crack down on file sharing sites.

Other rumors also surfaced including one that stated Microsoft may also have a newer version of SkyDrive available in July.  The updated software will have a brand new Recycle Bin feature and an Android app.
